Does marketing matter in online business if you're spiritual?

I was so confident I could make $10k a month the second I left my job. I remember telling my boyfriend at the time that I was seriously considering quitting my 9-5 so I could be a full time coach.

This was just after receiving my first life coaching certification. I believed with all my mind and heart that I’d be successful if I just had more time to put into this creation - this business - I was building.

A year later I did quit my job. We moved to New Zealand to live out of a van for a year. To be completely honest, I didn’t have a monthly income over $1000 that year, and most of that was from coaching, it was from freelance graphic design work.

Many of my closest friends have been on their own coaching journeys since around taht same time. Despite what our predecessors promised us back in 2017, 2018, 2019… none of us have consistent $10k months yet.

Yet we all work hard, market ourselves well and live from our internal alignment.

💫

Today I got an email from 2 of my favorite business coaches. They’ve been the champions of slow business - the idea of taking your time, standing in yoru integrity and building a business that lasts despite all of the constant change in the online business atmosphere. I was surprised then, when their email was about the next trend and how to play the algorithm.

Truth be told I’m tired of social media. It doesnt make sense to me. I dont think it makes sense to many of us in the online business space. I wrote a whole journal about it and have had many conversations with many individuals who feel the same way.

And then I meet people who are wildly successful, very wealthy, booked with clients and yet they hardly know what the word “algorythm” means.

Why is that,  you think?

  1. Accept Pravetic Karma

It was 2019 when I first read about Pravetic Karma. The idea that you are here to learn what your soul needs to learn and that may or may not include loads of riches.

I believe this, and I also think it’s even deeper still.

Sometimes the calling isn’t to show up and get paid.

Sometimes the calling isn’t to soulfully express yourself while you anxiously hold your breath, waiting for someone to find you, hire you or share you with Oprah.

2. Let the calling be the point

The calling, is often just to be willing.

To be willing to follow the call and go where your spirit urges you to go.

Money may have nothing to do with it and that’s okay.

Of course, it would still be nice to have that spontaneous rain of thousands and thousands of dollars. It can happen to anyone, anytime, but only if it is meant to be.

3. Feel Worthiness + Embodiment

And then third of all, there is this piece of worthiness. You must feel worthy of deserving money for your soulful expression. This piece lies in both the subconscious mind and the nervous system. The place where we automatically run the show. The operating system for our lives.  Subconscious work is the work that transforms how we are. This is the art of allowing. We release our ego’s ideas of control and allow spirit to move through us with ease and flow.

This is the calling.

This is the becoming.

This is how your soul evolves.

So why aren’t you filthy rich yet? Depends on your karma, which is fully out of your control. It could also be that your journey is simply to show up and do th ework. It could also be because you dont feel worthy of receiving large amounts of money yet.  Your subconscious and your nervous system need to be upleveled to show your conscious mind that you deserve what you desire.

So in the end, marketing really doesn’t have a lot to do with it. It has a lot to do with the physical world, but that’s only half the game, isn’t it?
