The algorithm has evolved, and the "hard sell" is dead. Here is the framework for becoming the "obvious answer" for your dream clients (and their AI) in 2026.

The Basics of Online Marketing

Sometimes we overcomplicate things, especially in online business, but the methods I teach inside The Sparkling Business Academy (TSBA), are all about stripping back the noise to find the specific marketing frequency that works for your unique energy. There are SO many experts screaming at us to stop the scroll and try their method for success. While there are many ways to skin a cat, the basics for growing your business remain the same at their core:



  1. You need a super clear ICA.

  2. You need a clear signature offer that solves a simple and clear problem for said ICA.

  3. You need to have a clear and consistent marketing strategy for sharing your offer with your ICA.



As someone who works regularly with both brick-and-mortar businesses as well as online-based businesses, I can tell you that what works for one is not at all what will work for the other when it comes to marketing. 



Online business is becoming increasingly niched. The way people buy services online is becoming increasingly niched. 



So while once upon time you could post a blog and wait for the internet gods to bless you with virality, it’s a new day and age for digital entrepreneurs now. 



I recently had a talk with a new client who gained tons of traction on Instagram. I asked her how she did it and she shared that she hopped on the reels trend. I pressed further - what year was that? 2021, she replied.  I knew that before she answered. Reels exploded in 2021, and anyone who quickly hopped on the trend and consistently posted in that form of content had a high chance of building a massive following. Resistant adopters who waited until 2022 to start dabbling had, in my opinion, already missed the boat. The algorithm changed, the market became flooded and people moved on.



This isn’t to say that you can’t use reels as a marketing strategy in 2026 and have success. I spoke with Tiffany Phillips, CEO of Diamond Digital Marketing a few weeks back and she assured me that organic posting to IG is not dead. Many of her clients are still seeing thousands of views and new followers from content posting alone. 



This goes to show once again that there are soooo many ways to skin that cat, ya’ll. 



So back to the basics. You have a problem you solve, an audience who has the problem and marketing plan to share the solution with them. That’s all it takes, right?



Like I was saying, we’re super niched online in 2026.



For example, my Insta feed is 100% full of yoga, ayurveda with a peppering of astrology updates and millennial music videos. My best friend’s feed? Couldn’t be more opposite. 



I don’t see popular memes.

I don’t see anything related to the mass news or politics.

I don’t even see content from people I actually know and care about IRL.

In essence, I really don’t see a lot of anything that is actually relevant. Lol 



That’s all by my design and how I trained my feed. 



So you could be my dream coach, with a dream offer for me, and you could even be posting rad content every day trying to reach me and it’s highly likely I’ll never see it. In the 10 minutes a week I’m spending on Instagram lately, it’s a very shallow scroll, a shared post to my story and then I’m out. 



Yet demographic data would likely suggest that a 34 year old woman interested in wellness and business development would be easily reached on IG. 



This is why inside TSBA, we stop relying on 'hope marketing' and start building multi-channel ecosystems that don't depend on an Instagram scroll.



We have to think smarter. Differently in how we market online now. 

As I suggest throughout my Social Media Energetics Journal, Instagram is not the only “queen bee” of online marketing anymore.

In fact, statistics show us that email marketing, blogging and pinterest are much more successful in terms of leads to sales than social media can be. 

But what about AI and AEO?

Great question. If the 'Queen Bees' of 2021 are losing their sting, how do we actually reach our dream clients in 2026 without losing our souls to the scroll?

One answer lies in a shift from SEO to AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)—and it is the most 'Sparkling Hippie' friendly tech shift we’ve ever seen. Below the fold, I’m breaking down exactly how to rank in the Age of AI and how we use this exact framework inside The Sparkling Business Academy to create effortless client magnetism.


The skinny on AEO

If you haven’t heard, SEO is out and AEO is in... well…sort of. That’s what we’re being told, and yet when we drill down further we see that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is actually still very relevant to AI search. In fact, it is the basis of a solid foundation for growing forward with LLM’s like ChatGPT and Gemini. 

When you have a solid SEO foundation in place, you can then blossom into AEO - which, I would argue, is just doing good business in the digital space. AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization, which means we want people to ask their personal ChatGPT something about how they could best be supported in their journey to diet-based weight loss and instantly they are referred to you - the Lifestyle Wellness Coach of their dreams! 


So with SEO someone would have googled “wellness coach for weight loss” or several variations of such. We would work to design a website that uses these words and phrases so Google can easily match you up with someone’s search query.

With AI, people are more conversational with how they ask for help. Think of their ChatGpt or Gemini as their personal best friend - they know waaayyyyyy more about them. 

Side Story: (Did you catch the latest Gemini update? It’s Beta right now, but basically if you want it to, it will gather data from all your other google apps and use it to educate itself on understanding you better and how to help you better. I gave it a try and it made me chuckle! Instantly my Gemini was using sourdough baking metaphors to help me with a business-related question. I found it helpful and amusing, though I know everyone’s comfort level with AI and data-collecting content varies. 


I love helping my Academy students find their own 'Sourdough Metaphor'—that unique brand voice that makes AI recognize you as a human authority worth recommending.

Note: For the record, I pay for Gemini, which means my information must be kept private. Non-paid versions of AI often mean your data is used for learning and research purposes and not necessarily confidential. If you use AI to help clients you 100% should be using a paid version of the platform as it will keep their data safe and secure. 

Anyway, Sally wants to lose weight by altering her diet. She’s been talking to her custom Gem about this for a while. Gemini knows she doesn’t like the idea of pills, surgery or shots. She is a health-focused individual but can’t seem to shake the extra weight off. Frustrated, one day Sally turns to Gemini for help.

Rather than the old way of searching: “diet based weight loss programs”, she talks to Gemini more like a friend: 

I’m so frustrated with this extra weight. It makes me feel insecure and uncomfortable in my own skin, which is terrible!  I hate avoiding swim parties with friends, or worse, going and keeping my clothes on the whole time. I really want to do the work to lose the weight the old fashioned way - through diet and exercise, but I don’t know where to start. What should I do?” 


Gemini promptly will respond with some facts, some bullet points and maybe even a list of recommended coaches or programs for Sally to look into. THAT is where we want your business to show up.

Here’s the thing though - the strategy to get you showing up THERE is going to be a little different than the strategy we used to get you to the top of Google (and yes, I’ve helped dozens of clients rank #1 on Google within weeks of working with me.) 

How to rank with AEO

  • Content that answers specific questions. Educational content. 

  • Speak authentically across all brand platforms. AI doesn’t source content from other bots. It wants to source content from real humans! Yay for us! But what that means is that you should really be writing your content yourself for best results. AI loves you being authentically you in how you answer questions for your target market. Isn’t that a spiritual entrepreneur’s dream answer? Be yourself. Be authentic. But hey girl - stay on topic and stay relevant with your audience! ;)

So in short - answer questions in your long form content (blogs and informative YT videos). Do your own PR - get featured in other reputable websites, podcasts and platforms.  Use another platform to be a helpful resource to your audience (Reddit, Quora, 


What I really love about AEO is that the strategy is essentially becoming a trusted source for your ideal clients. I think all of us want to do that anyway! Aim to be the most helpful person in the (digital) room and you’ll be the obvious answer for anyone wanting a solution to the problem you solve. It’s really algorithm speak for “be authentic and consistent in how you build an online business.”

Okay, but how do we do marketing well in the age of aquarius?

Here are a few questions to ask yourself as you approach marketing in the Age of Aquarius and AI:

  • What marketing channels do you actually enjoy using yourself? Instagram, Pinterest, Substack, Facebook, Reddit, TikTok, etc.?

  • Of those you listed, would you be willing to turn any of them into a business-based platform rather than something you use more passively for personal reasons? Trust me, it will change your experience with the platform whether you want it to or not. 

  • Now, is your ICA hanging out in those spaces, you think? If not, where is she at?

  • Also, where are current clients finding you now?
