Why I created this piece
The original canvas piece was a private commission for a local business office. As with most of my pieces, I started out with no end goal in mind, however as I began working my way through the canvas I quickly realized that the random scribbles wanted to symbolize the Sierra Nevada foothills, Lake New Melones and other characteristics unique to Tuolumne County, California. This is why I named it “Abstract Tuolumne County”. The more you look at it, the more things you’ll find!

I love to visit places and collect art that reminds me of the place. I’m not a realist artist, so it’s always been easier to collect art in this way than it has been to create it. This piece pushed me past my mental barriers and showed me that my interpretation of a location (as abstract) is important and beautiful too.

A fun thing I like to recommend is to rotate the orientation of the canvas periodically. There is no right side up with this painting! Rotate and use your imagination to see new aspects of the painting from time to time.

Lastly, everything is energy. I intentionally pour love and positive, sparkling energy into all of my paintings. It is my hope that this painting will hold that energy and share it with you when you most need it. It’s meant to raise your vibration and help you strengthen your own intuition.
